You will find a truly unique combination of modern and traditional Ukrainian selections in this album. Music is always in a a state of change and Ukrainian music is no different. Although a group could record nothing but traditional Ukrainian music and take no chances, it would not be of service to the Ukrainian community. This album contains modern tunes that are vital links between the young and old generations.
Ruta, a group that has spent much time and effort in developing a true Ukrainian sound, has made the transition form a strictly traditional group to one that can perform the most modern works with the same free flow that is characteristic of their musical approach. Ruta believes that a person should be moved by the music he hears. All the songs in this album are meant to be listened to with participation in mind. Ruta's style of misicianship allows no one to be indifferent to their music, and they have always relied on the principle that only the best is sufficient for a successful performance. A great deal of care was taken in recording the final product. Ruta wishes you much happy listening and hopes that you enjoy these tunes as much as they enjoy performing them.
